We have a great team here at Smockingbird, so we love to name new styles after our Smockingbirdies. Suri Eleanor has been with us for a couple of years now and it's been so fun to watch her grow up. We are well overdue for her dress!
You've seen Suri in so many of our photos. The camera loves her, and mom Anny is an outstanding photographer. Definitely go check out her portfolio at Oakhart Portrait House. If you are anywhere near the Kansas City area you need to schedule a session!
Suri is four now, and she was up for an interview. When she grows up she wants to be an ice cream girl with her own truck. Here are some of her favorites:
Our Suri dress is what we like to think of as "modern vintage." We started with an actual 1970s A-line pattern and improved it! A zipper became buttons, and we added interfacing to the bodice so the sewn pleats stay sharp. Double flutter sleeves with contrasting stitching are our girly touch . . . and also allow us to incorporate vintage trim. The vintage length works on its own and also looks adorable with bloomers or icings. The crisp lines complement the generous fit, making it perfect from playgrounds to special occasions, and the flattering silhouette works on all body types. View sizing details here.
We think that Suri is the perfect name for our modern-vintage style, as it's named after a spunky little girl with a classic name.
Our first Suri dress is releasing in The Nest. It is extremely limited and you'll want to be there for it! Ask any member to add you to the wait list. You'll see more of Suri, and the Suri dress, in our Smockingbird Collection this summer.
