Extreme Couponing 101

Boden Brands We Love Bunnies Growing Up Smockingbird Horses Shopping Spring

Everybody loves a good deal, right?  We do, too.  This week was one where all the stars aligned and made for an amazing deal!

How about... $10 shipped for this Mini Boden skirt?!  It's adorable, this season, and $54 less than retail.

If you're not familiar with Boden, check it out.  It's not handmade, but it's quality playwear.  I know a little horse lover who is going to squeal when she sees this skirt.

So here's how the whole couponing thing works.

Remember that Rue La La promo I mentioned last week?   This one let you pay $35 for a $50 voucher to spend at Boden.  It shipped electronically the next day.  Yay!

Rue La La gives you credits if you refer them some business.  Invite a friend, earn $10. That sort of thing.  I had $25 in credits I had completely forgotten about.  Boom!  The $50 Boden voucher now cost $10 instead of $35.

Time to go shopping.  I picked out the Fun Applique Skirt in pink.  It also comes in a purple bunny version.   The skirt ($54) plus shipping ($10) brought my shopping cart total to $64.

Now let's stack a coupon.

Boden runs all sorts of promos that are a google search away.  Literally search "Boden Coupon" for the latest greatest.  I turned up one for 20% off selected items and 10% off everything else, plus free shipping.  It's still good - use code R542.

Applying this to my cart ($64 - $10 shipping - $5.40) brought my new total to $48.60.  I paid with my $50 voucher.  Done.

Retail price plus shipping: $64.  Total out of pocket: $10.  Savings: $54 (over 84%).  Not bad!

Even if you had paid the full $35 for the Boden voucher, you would have saved $29 (45%).  For current season high-end clothing, that's pretty amazing.  You can stretch your savings by shopping in the sale section.  The couponing possibilities are endless, and it's fun to score Boden at Tarjay prices.

Easy peasy, right?  Happy shopping!
